SLITTI INAUGURATES THE FIRST FLAGSHIP STORE IN FLORENCE AND AIMS FOR INTERNATIONAL GROWTH

Slitti's expansion plan continues and with the opening of its store in the center of Florence marks an important milestone in the evolution of the brand, with a focus on the Middle Eastern markets.

Florence, 23 February 2023 – Slitti ( www.slitti.it ), the Chocolate Factory of Monsummano Terme, in the province of Pistoia, one of the excellences of the so-called “Chocolate Valley Tuscany”, inaugurates its first Flagship store in Florence, in Piazza of the Oil 6.

This is an opening that marks the beginning of a new phase for the Slitti brand. A story which, starting in 1969 from the coffee roasting in Monsummano Terme, has rapidly evolved to embrace the world of chocolate, and is now ready to develop along two new directions - internationalization and retail - keeping the growth project at the center the mastery of the maitre chocolatier Andrea Slitti , recognized as one of the most important artisan chocolatiers in the world, and the excellence of his products, which have already won over 180 awards.

“The new store in Florence is not just a physical place, but represents in every way what Slitti is: craftsmanship, attention to raw materials, attention to detail, creativity and also the ability of chocolate to bring people together - he explains Andrea Slitti – We are very happy to start this new phase of growth for the company from Florence: this opening marks the beginning of a new path of development and evolution of the Slitti brand from an international and retail perspective. The new store was created as a scalable and replicable format, which will allow you to experience the Slitti experience at 360° and to discover and taste our preparations, from chocolate ones, special coffee ones, from classic pastries through to waffles, ice cream and cakes, up to savory preparations, such as pancakes, crostoni, tartare, savory croissants and much more.”

The store in Piazza dell'Olio, which opens 54 years after the inauguration of the historic café in Monsummano Terme, is spread over a surface area of over 150m2 with approximately 30 seats and will be organized into four main areas, designed to enhance craftsmanship, made in Italy, and the two flagship products of the Sleigh tradition: chocolate and coffee. At the coffee counter (as well as in the dining room) it will be possible to taste different coffee blends, selected by Andrea Slitti, as well as a wide selection of hot chocolates and affogatos; a showcase is reserved for chocolate, which will host more than 40 types of pralines, including those with Caffè Turco, winners of the 2023 Tavoletta d'Oro Award; a third showcase will be dedicated to pastries and artisanal specialties prepared on the spot such as freshly baked churros and waffles enriched with fine spreadable creams, krapfen filled with Slitti artisanal ice cream and artisanal cakes of every flavour, from the classic Torta della Nonna revisited in a Slitti key to the chocolate one and orange; to conclude with the dedicated sales corner where it will also be possible to purchase a vast selection of award-winning products, such as the new Calabacita Figs stuffed with sambuca, the 73% GranCocao Bar, or the Gianera Spreadable Cream.

However, the Slitti flagship will also satisfy the palates most attuned to savory tastes. The Slitti tradition will in fact also decline towards gourmet dishes which include a wide selection of stuffed flatbreads, such as the one with sbriciolona, artichokes and pecorino cream, crostoni, from the one with gorgonzola, pears, walnuts and honey to the one with burrata, dried tomatoes and anchovies, up to tartares of fine Piedmontese adult veal, then savory croissants and much more.

“Working on the first flagship of a brand like Slitti, bearer of such important values for Made in Italy and with such an important tradition and history, was a truly exciting challenge. The store was designed with the idea, on the one hand, of enhancing the craftsmanship and tradition of the brand, and on the other of creating a personalized and original space in every furnishing element - comments Franco Costa of Costa Group, a reality that has been designing and creating premises in the world of catering for over twenty years - We have found the synthesis in the details: the original wallpaper which is also used on the seats, recalls the origins of the product, while the fine marbles and the brass embellish the space making it elegant and convivial. The store also boasts a video wall of over 7 meters located above the main counter, which will allow the customer to discover the artisanal production processes and the "behind the scenes" of the Slitti preparations, from the Chocolate Factory, to the Coffee Roasting up to the Laboratory of Pastry.
